The Solar
The solar is the ladies' room of the castle where one could often find the women of the keep working on embroidery or other crafts.
Ok, she's not a thing of beauty...but I finished her. Maybe now this voice in the back of my head will leave me alone. You'd be surprised what thoughts go through your head while driling 124 holes and then hammering in 124 nails three times.
(Megh: I was exhuasted after this, but Ky assured me I would live through it. She's all for a creative process, but would prefer I work on something more 'useful.' Her word. I had to finish this thing...now the nagging voice wants me to weave. *sigh* Why do I think her name begins with a V?)
So, on my ugly, but functional triloom I have started a weaving. It's supposed to turn into a butterfly shawl...but we'll see if I feel up to doing 2 triangles per gift I'm planning on making.
Here are two of the baby ponchos I've finished. I swear, I have never seen so many pick-ups and pregnant women in my life! There must be something in the North Carolina water. :) The blue poncho has a hood, but is otherwise identical to the green one. I really like the eyelash yarn of the green one though.
Finally, these are some shots of the 'baby' blanket I'm making. I get the feeling it's going to be far larger than I originally intended. Oh well.
